LET'S take back our neighborhood
Our HOA is a dystopian nightmare. But it doesn't have to be.
One Owner One Vote
Because of how our covenant is written, nobody has been allowed to vote for 5 years. The same group of people just reappoint themselves every year.
All homeowners are equal, and deserve an equal voice.
Full Transparency
Do you get notices about trivial things, while other people have damaged property and yards full of trash? Maybe there's a reason for that - we just don't know.
All homeowners are equal, and deserve to be fully informed.
Reasonable Deadlines
Getting a notice saying you have 30 days to spend $5000 repainting your house is insane, and saying "we can work with you if you're too poor" is degrading.
Homeowners deserve reasonable notice for large expenditures.
Fix The Common Areas
The empty lot on the left entrance is always a mess, and the bench where kids wait for the bus has been broken for years. Fixing them would cost a fraction of what we pay Southern Property Management.
An HOA should maintain the common areas.
Fire Southern Property Management
The company says every action is approved by the board, but board members say they didn't know about actions by the company. Which is it?
Real leaders own their decisions, and don't hide behind a middle-man.
In-Person Meetings
The last two HOA meetings have been held over zoom, and homeowners cannot speak unless spoken to. Southern Property Management literally turns off your microphone.
All homeowners are equal, and deserve an equal voice.
